The pandemic has radically changed business, which means that more and more specialists from various countries are working in Lithuanian companies. This also affects internal communication within companies – English is increasingly being used more than Lithuanian, thus increasing the demand for purposeful use of the English language.
Long hours spent studying from textbooks, memorizing new words, and completing endless grammar exercises are now a thing of the past. Of course, one can feel proud when there’s a pile of completed tasks and filled pages next to them. After all, it shows the work that has been done. However, when it comes time to apply this knowledge in practice, especially when communicating with native-speaking professionals, many people feel hesitant, as if the words get stuck in their throat, and the more complex phrases they worked so hard to memorize seem to have vanished.
Fewer and fewer executives aim for higher CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels. On the other hand, having a C1-level certificate does not necessarily mean that you can lead negotiations with an international company or clearly communicate why a project is delayed. Effective communication is an art. Doing all of this in English is a huge challenge. Therefore, aiming for a higher language level is no longer a priority. When it comes time to prepare a presentation and conduct international negotiations in English, this is something that needs to be learned here and now. Practice is essential.
What are not English language courses for executives?
When thinking about English language courses, the image that probably comes to mind is this: all the students sitting around a table, the teacher drawing diagrams on the board, asking if everything is clear, and all the students nervously nodding their heads. At the end of the lesson, everyone rushes home and pulls out the same textbook the day before the next class.
A slightly different scenario is also possible: you see the teacher’s and other students’ faces on your computer screen, with the textbook lying beside you.
English language courses for executives will radically change your approach to learning. It might even shock you. There will be no textbook.
So, what exactly are English language courses for executives?
Before the course starts, you will be asked to fill out a needs assessment questionnaire. During the first lesson, you will clarify your needs and goals together with the other course participants and the instructor. Then, a tailored training program will be created for the course participants. You will individually or with colleagues select only the most necessary and relevant topics. Do you need tools and models that are already proven in business? Do you want vocabulary and know-how on how to communicate in international markets? Our experienced instructors will not only teach you but also provide opportunities to apply this knowledge in practice. After the lesson, you will be able to communicate more effectively in English in the workplace and beyond.
The classes are held in groups of up to 6 participants. Why only that many? This group size optimizes lesson time and provides the opportunity to practice the language not only in smaller groups but also in pairs. Effective communication is learned only through communication. Additionally, if needed, individual lessons are also available.
