Preparation for the Lithuanian Language Exam

I liked the exercises — they were practical and focused on real-life speaking, which was exactly what I needed to feel more confident speaking Lithuanian.

The course struck a great balance between reviewing grammar and practising real-life conversations. I wouldn’t change anything — everything was just right.

The information was presented very clearly and in an easy-to-understand way. I especially appreciated that, when explaining grammar rules, Rūta often used materials about famous Lithuanians, Lithuanian traditions, customs, poems and songs. This made the lessons truly interesting and gave me a much broader understanding of Lithuania and its culture.

It was both useful and interesting to start learning Lithuanian from scratch and hear how the language sounds in real life. I especially enjoyed discussing word origins, roots and connections with other languages with Marytė — that was genuinely fascinating. One suggestion I would make is to allow a little more time for independent vocabulary learning before class, so that more lesson time could be spent on exercises and practical use.

I really enjoyed talking with the teacher about Lithuanian culture and history — it made the lessons much more than just language learning. The lesson structure was clear and well organised, and the dialogues were excellent for building confidence in speaking.

I appreciated that the lessons focused on real everyday Lithuanian situations together with the basics of grammar — noun declension, word agreement in sentences, reading and creating short sentences. This gave me a solid and practical foundation from the very beginning.

Thank you for this opportunity and for the support and effort of the entire team. I believe we gained more confidence and genuinely enjoyed trying to speak Lithuanian — largely thanks to our teacher Vaida from Skrivanek, who guided us through every step of the course.

Thank you for organising the course — it was truly useful. We can now understand words and sentences in everyday life and have a better sense of what our colleagues are saying. The atmosphere in the lessons was really positive, and our teacher Vaida created a fun and supportive environment where learning felt natural. The effort put in by the whole team was excellent.
